How to remove small scratches on the retina display?

After owning many Mac laptops, I must say the Retina display is VERY sensitive to scratches. I take good care of my stuff and I still wonder how it happened (never happened before). Anyway, I got two scratches (like tiny holes) on the display. I tried to buff one out and it did not help, since it made it glossy and the display is mate. I thought of using a resin, like the ones used to repair cracked glass on cars, but I would like to know if someone have used it before.

"I have now had three... THREE retina displays.

The first time I had tiny cracks like pinhead cracks in a cluster in the middle of the screen. The second screen had a dead pixel. The third I cleaned today and noticed two small pinhead sized cracks again.

I have no idea how this happened... I take very good care of this, especially since the first incident. Each time it was replaced by Apple Care but that has now expired. I have a THULE case and now I'm thinking that the only way to resolve this in future is to get a screen protector.

How did everyone else's happen?"

I have a patch of small scratches at the top left of the display where my thumb touches when I open the top or adjust it. My previous Pro had a glass screen and never had a mark despite heavy useage.
