Why wont my engine fire or run?

Why wont my engine fire or run? It will turn over. but it will try to start up on starting fluid. tjen it quits trying to run just turns over. whats wrong??

i have almost the same problem my dodge neon wont even turn over it doesnt even do a click what do i do ? can anhy body help me
