No sound from left ear.

No sound from left ear.

The left wire on my headphones may have gotten pulled a bit as I am no longer able to get sound from the left side. Is this something that is repairable or worth opening them up and taking a look? These are out of the manufacturers warranty.

Were you able to solve this? I have the same problem but it happens only when the headphone is connected using Bluetooth (works perfectly on both ears using the cable) and sometimes you can actually hear the left ear but the sound has a really low volume.

"This makes no sense to me! New M1 Mac Mini, no microphone included, obviously, decided to use my Crossfade Wireless as a mic input, 1st gen CF I think… no audio from left ear cup over BT, not from the computer, not from my phone over BT either, despite it having always worked up to now. Reset the firmware of the headphones as suggested above to no avail, did the cable plug-in then quickly pulled the cord out and that fixed it.

WHY did it fix it? Will it stay ‘fixed’? Do I need to talk with V-Moda about this? Is it a problem with any of their other headphones?

Should I investigate another brand entirely?"

"So I’ll add this as a separate answer, as I haven’t seen it mentioned yet.

The left ear on my Crossfade 2 wouldn’t work when using Bluetooth, but it would using an audio cable. (I use the one given with the Crossfade). So I tried the above mentioned fixes, the firmware reset and audio cable plug-in and plug-out, but it still wouldn’t work.

I then tried the cable plug-in and plug-out with a different audio cable (in this case the audio cable from an Astro A40 TR), which did in fact fix the problem.

I have no idea why, but it worked. It may be worth a try if you are having the same issue as me.

Edit: I also wanted to add that there was a difference in volume after the left one started to work again. This was fixed by maximizing the volume on my laptop, and then putting it back to normal."

"I'‘ve had two pairs of Vmoda headphones, the first pair (crossfade) failed in the left ear just after the warranty ran out so Vmoda’s fancy named six star customer service team sold me an immortal life upgrade (which I was happy to pay for), but after import tax to the UK ended up being about the same price as a new pair anyway. My second pair (crossfade wireless), the bluetooth failed around the end of the warranty time (wireless have 1 year warranty, crossfade have 2 year). Having a 1 year warranty on expensive headphones is pretty useless especially if the bluetooth breaks!! I’ve never heard of bluetooth breaking. I assume they are aware of the issues because they made a decision to provide less warranty. Anyway, they still worked wired so I didn't mind too much. Six star customer service team (makes me laugh that name) weren’t particularly helpful they offered me the immortal life programme again, which I guess is their solution and might be more affordable for US customers. 2 year later, so 3 years after purchasing the left ear has now started stuttering, I won’t even bother to get in touch with their customer service.

Honestly, I’m not sure if this is an acceptable life expectancy for the product, you could say they both out lived their warranty but 600£ on headphones for 5 years use is pretty steep, and i doubt i’ll buy a new pair.

I wouldn’t expect their customer service to do much if it’s out of warranty but then I guess that’s the point of the warranty. Just a bit misleading they call themselves six star customer service (why are they better than five star?? )

I’m probably going to try take them apart at some point and see what’s wrong, they’re both pretty useless to me otherwise."

"Hi,

it happened to me too with my Marshall headphones.

It may be that the tin welding inside the left side speaker broke.

You just need to open it and weld the cable again with a tin soldering :)

Quite easy and cheap stuff :-)"
