Why won't my tablet's screen respond to touch?

Why won't my tablet's screen respond to touch?

My tablet is on, but I am unable to use it because my touchscreen is not working. I tried resetting my tablet, but when I turned it back on, my screen was still not responding to touch. Why won't my tablet's screen respond to touch?

"Hey Aaron,

The problem could be as simple as an interfering screen protector. Try removing your screen protector or device case and see if the touch screen will work then.

Since you already reset your device and it didn't work, try replacing your screen. You may have a faulty screen and digitizer, which is why your device won't respond to touch.

If all else fails, replace your motherboard. This is the main component of your device that deals with all of its functions, and if you have tried all of these solutions, then your device should start working again. Check out our troubleshooting page for more information on your device's problems!"

"i had this same problem on 2 different tab s2's here is what i figured out......

the trick i found out is to not put your tablet in power save mode, my buddy had his in power save mode and the touch would not be responsive after we locked the screen, so we exchanged it (of course we didnt know this was the issue at 1st) and got a new one and did the same thing, initially reading on here and trying all these other ""Solutions"" i thought it was apps he was installing.. deleted those and nothing...so i see his tablet is in Power Save Mode and i turn it off...and WALA!!!! it worked, no problems with it now it works fine....i mean we have a volume down key issue but its not too too big of a deal... but i really hope this helps you guys, i was really annoyed with customer service, they didnt help at all, they just pointed me to a sevice technition in my area, and they will charge you, i forwarded this info to thier head of quality control with my info hopefully they can get back to me to help the later versions with this problem, its a very nice and amazing tablet when its working :)"

Wow what rude responses for this question. If the touch does not work after the reset you tried and there is not a screen protector on it, I would replace the screen. The screen on the Galaxy Tab 3 is not a difficult one to swap out. If you need any help doing it, there are guides on this site for you. Hope you find the fix.

"We have an Asus tablet that first had intermittent touchscreen problems such as non responsive areas on the screen and ghost touches. All the factory resets and software updates did not help at all. We bought and installed the new digitizer screen - no change.

Cause:

bad contact of the digitizer ribbon cables due to the loose latches.

Advise that finally helped:

cut a piece of film (like the film used to protect the screen) to the size of the digitizer cable and insert it on top of the ribbon cable into the same slot.

The problem seems to be common across all manufacturers."

Same thing happened to me here is my solution. 1. Do a force rest by pressing both volume buttons and lock button. After rest your screen will still 'lock up' again if you lock your screen so be careful. 2. Do a update of your tablet. This fixed my problem. However I did not drop my tablet. It was a operating error.
