"Make sure you have all ten screws out , separate along edges apply a bit more force there are some clips around the dvd drive making it seem like its stuck in the middle just need a little effort.

I, too, felt a bit of resistance in the center region when pulling off the back cover. Was a bit reluctant to force it open. Having the reassurance from someone who's already opened it definitely helped with the confidence.
Turned out there were 3 clips around the battery (2 on the top and 1 on the left).
Gently pulling the back cover downwards (away from the hinge) would do the job.

I have the GL753v laptop. In the center of the bottom plate is a rubber piece in the shape of an L, take a flathead to the edge so you damage dont the rubber. Under that rubber is the 11th screw. After you take that screw out the cover will come off with minimal effort
