It is possibly giving you the error because the lens may be stuck in the barrel. It is possible that your battery does not have enough power for the lens function. First connect your AC adapter or USB cable. Hold the shutter button while switching on the camera. Take a look at the lens, if some of the lens rings look crocked or not lined up try to gently wiggle it while holding the lens down. You can also try to to VERY GENTLY push or pull the lens when it extends. But be very careful since this could dislodge the lens of the guides. Take a look on here

6 meiner kameras von kodak-samsung und canon hatten das gleiche problem - lege die kamera fuer einige stunden in das gefrierfach - benutze gute neue oder aufgeladene batterien und probier ohne SD karte - Ich hatte 90 % erfolg - 6 of my cameras had the same problem - remove the battery and memory card - put the camera in the freezer for a few hours and try with very good or full recharged battery - I had 90 % success with this

hi tuerkey - I never got any problems with condensation - just make sure the lens shows to the bottem of the freezer to avoid condensation running inside - one of my kodaks V550 saw the freezer 4 times in 5 months and is still working - I think cleanness of the lens is important - this is one reason I never use a soft camera bag which gives off lint and microscopic tread material - sometimes I start the camera and clean the lens with cotton earbuds and the same fluid i use to clean CD/s and cassette recorder heads - which part of the globe are you living ? cheers willi

I lebe in neu sealand und die kameras sind vielleicht weniger temperatur schwankungen und staub ausgesetzt als in deutschland - oldturkey03 is richtig mit seinem rat aber es war sinnlos mit einigen meiner kameras mit innenoptik oder kodak twinlens- Ich benutze keine plasticbags um kondensation zu vermeiden - aber ich trockne die kameras sehr gruendlich - ich vermute die kaelte im gefrierfach zieht das material zusammen und laesst die linse frei - aber das ist nur eine vermutung - in jedem falle habe ich in den letzten 15 monaten auf diese weise 6 kameras gerettet - ich hoffe mein deutsch ist noch verstaendlich nach all den jahren in auckland

pollytintop - non of the cameras showed any error massage - so I'm not sure - of 7 cameras 6 were working again and stuff rugby lol - i prefer soccer and chess with the computer

btw - the kodak Vseries has twinlenses and can therefore not been pulled or pushed to free them - the lenses are covered by a medaldisk which swings to the side inside the camera - sometimes the disk get stuck because of a combination of worn off metal,dust or spilled fluid - I bought a V 610 last month which would open a little and then close down - after cleaning the cover in and outside the mechanism is working perfectly and I absolutely love this camera
