Continuous Ink Supply System or CISS is a kit for inkjet printers that feed ink into a special permanent cartridge via tube connected to external ink tanks.  Epson and Canon printers are usually supported by CISS.

Extended Cartridge is a special permanent cartridge which is also ink tanks for Brother Printers. The ink tanks are inserted at the cartridge assembly. Ink is added to the cartridges as they run low.
