Participate in the design and development of key back-end components of Pro SEO Tools system

Resolve critical problems in production environment with a minimum turnaround time

Ensure successful, on-time releases

Provide support and help for junior engineers

Good written and oral English communication skills

Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology degree (4 to 5 years or equivalent)

Expert in using algorithms and data structures

Excellent understanding and working knowledge of Java

Good knowledge of one or more Java backend technologies (preferably Spring Framework and Hibernate ORM)

Working knowledge of one or more SQL relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL)

Understanding of asynchronous I/O, concurrency, and distributed data systems

Understanding of web application architecture and MVC model

Software engineering best practices: distributed version control (git or Mercurial), unit testing (JUnit), continuous integration (Jenkins

or similar)

Strong understanding and experience with UNIX / Linux

Hands-on experience with Groovy and Grails

Experience working with Amazon infrastructure (EC2, S3 and Elastic MapReduce)

Experience developing applications on the JVM using alternative languages (Groovy, Jython, JRuby, Scala or Clojure)

Working knowledge of one or more NoSQL databases (Apache HBase, Apache Cassandra or MongoDB)

Understanding of BigData concepts and Map/Reduce programming model (preferably using Apache Hadoop)

Experience with web crawling and indexing, text mining and headless browser automation

Experience working in Agile Software Development environment: daily stand ups, code reviews, estimation and retrospectives

Understanding concepts and working knowledge of one of the functional programming languages (Lisp, Scheme, Haskell, Erlang,

Clojure or even XSLT). This is not essential but a huge plus.

Minimum 3 years experience in commercial software development, 5 years recommended
