International Year of Chemistry (IYC) 2011

The Oracle Education Foundation celebrates the International Year of Chemistry (IYC) 2011 by connecting ThinkQuest active users-students and teachers to the scientific community. The program will run until October 2011.
The goal of IYC 2011 is to increase public appreciation of Chemistry among the young people and generate enthusiasm for the creative future of Chemistry. The global celebration of the IYC 2011 are being led by the official partners, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC). The theme of the celebrations is "Chemistry – Our Life, Our Future. ”.

The Chemistry Connect is an initiative on ThinkQuest that involves participation and support of distinguished members of scientific fraternity from India, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Indonesia and other countries in Asia Pacific. The ThinkQuest member schools will have free access to lecture series delivered by renowned scientists of international stature and from premier institutes of science. The active users will also have the opportunity to ask questions to the scientists and to collaborate with the students from other parts of the world on chemistry projects.
