The Math and Science Young Adventurer’s Club (MSYAC) will hold the two-day "Educators Mental Math Logic Gaming Workshop,” an alternative Mathematical Applications on Tower of Hanoi and Kakuro at the Baguio Country Club Road, Baguio City on the following schedules:
Schedule

The Tower of Hanoi is used as a teaching strategy in Exponential Expression and Number Sequence. It is also known as the Tower of Benares, a truly mathematical game or puzzle. It consists of three (3) rods and a number of disks of different sizes which can slide unto any rod. The puzzle starts with the disks neatly attached in order of size on one rod, the smallest at the top. Thus, making a conical shape.

The Kakuro is a number puzzle game in which the operation of Mathematics is applied. This game is related to Sudoku where logic is emphasized.

This activity aims to impart to the teacher-participants the teaching strategy on exponential expression and number sequence using Tower of Hanoi, a Mathematical craze currently used by the Philippine Normal University’s Mathematics teachers.

Lecture and gaming competition among the participants are lined up for the workshop.
The target participants are all Mathematics teachers, school principals and any other teachers who are interested to join.

A registration fee of Three Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty Pesos (PhP3,750.00) will be charged to each participant inclusive of one(1) CD power point presentation (a visual presentation on Tower of Hanoi and Kakuro, hand-out reading materials for Tower of Hanoi and Kakuro, certificate of participation, one (1) copy of Mathematical problem exercises with solution and answer key, breakfast (1), snack (1) and lunch (2), and one (1) night accomodation at Teachers Camp, Baguio City. However, a discounted rate of Three Thousand Three Hundred Seventy Five Pesos (PhP3, 3,375.00) will be offered to each early registrant.
