Dramatis Personae filmshowing: "RIZAL REDUX (1861-2011)"

The Dramatis Personae, a theatre video events film, invites the public to watch its latest theatrical contribution via a digitized version on the life, works and writings of the national hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal entitled "Rizal Redux (1861-2011)." This will be shown in celebration of his 150th birth anniversary in June this year. This play was set in the afterlife, where Dr. Jose Rizal, who was then 35 years old appeared to a college student who has been constantly researching on the mysteries behind the delicate issue of his retraction, but in the process discovered more intriguingly important things that many Filipinos, especially the students, are still taking for granted.

Rizal Redux contains themes such as the necessity of heroism in a modern day setting, the idea of how to get involved in the society, problems in socio-political apathy especially by the youth, issues on graft and corruption, and societal hypocrisy.

The high school students from both public and private schools are invited to watch this play which will commence this July 2011. There will be a brief lecture and question-and-answer forum before and after the performance.
