The Skymobile announces its Astronomy and Environmental Awareness Programs for School Year (SY) 2013-2014.
The Astronomy Awareness Program aims to focus on Astronomy to educate the pupils/students in uncovering a universe that is vast and living, while the Environmental Awareness Program aims to help the environment by propagating the importance of three R’s (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) to them in a fun and interactive way.
The Program includes the following activities:
- Activity 1 – Skydome (Mobile Digital Planetarium) Space exploration or full length 3D movie
- Activity 2 – Gallery of space photos from NASA and Filipino astro photographer
- Activity 3 – Space Movie (Film showing about space explorations)
- Activity 4 – Open forum with Junior Astronomers and Environmentalists in Environmental Awareness (Lecture about 3 R’s – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle)
Additional Bonus Activity is provided such as Solar Viewing or Stargazing (if the weather is perfectly clear).
The target participants to this activity are pupils, students and teachers from both public and private elementary and secondary schools.
Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption-of-classes policy as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith. This is also subject to the no-collection policy as stated in Section 3 of Republic Act No. 5546, An Act Prohibiting the Sale of Tickets and/or the Collection of Contributions for Whatever Project or Purpose from Students and Teachers of Public and Private Schools, Colleges and Universities.
