Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Liberty (FNF) launches Liberal Project

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Liberty (FNF) has launched the Liberal Project on June 19, 2011 to promote liberal developments in the country.
The project aims to:
  1. recognize outstanding initiatives that promote the liberal values of good governance, human rights, free trade and freedom with responsibility;
  2. seek to acknowledge legislations, policies, and programs that made an impact in the national or local scene and translate liberal principles into practical ideas that engage the public; and
  3. raise public awareness on these accomplishments and encourage support for the liberal agenda.
The local government units, communities, organizations and schools can nominate the following in the search of the liberal project:
  1. Bills and/or legislations in Congress that advance democracy, safeguard human rights, and advance free trade;
  2. Policies in government agencies and departments that uphold transparency and accountability in civil service;
  3. Existing programs in the local community that exemplify good governance; and
  4. Projects that allow people to enjoy freedom, but at the same time teach the responsibility that comes with it.
The deadline for submission of entries is on August 31, 2011 and the presentation of the selected entries will be on October 27, 2011. Nominations may be submitted on-line at www.fnf.org.ph/theliberalproject or by filling up the form and mail it to: MCPO Box 9126, Makati City.

The Liberal Project will receive a Plaque of Recognition and cash incentive to be awarded by the Liberal Party leaders during the presentation. The project will be publicized through media and its representatives will be given a chance to participate in the seminar in Germany to learn more about liberal practices.
