The AFP Human Rights Office (AFPHRO) Chief Col. Domingo J. Tutaan Jr. said the film series is an effective means of promoting the organization’s advocacy. "We believe that "Kinse” is a very effective way to bring the human rights issues to the people as well as to our troops as we continuously seek the propagation of our advocacy inculcated within our Internal Peace and Security Plan or IPSP Bayanihan,” he said.
"The quest for peace and development is not a concern of those only in the security sector; it is, and must also be a concern of the whole nation. It is a common aspiration, which is why we are doing our best to encourage the soldiers and the civilians to work together to achieve just and lasting peace and stability within our nation,” Tutaan added.
Top officials from the AFP and the Philippine National Police (PNP), and the CHR Chairperson Honorable Loreta Ann P. Rosales will attend the film showing and give special messages and remarks.
The film showing will begin with brief introduction and messages regarding the film. It will be divided into two parts, with a short break in between.
Also attending are key officials from the GHQ, representatives from the Department of National Defense (DND), the Philippine Army, Philippine Navy, Philippine Air Force, AFP National Capital Region Command (NCRCOM), National Development Support Command (NADESCOM), and the AFP Wide Service Support Units (AFPWSSUs).
In coordination with the CHR, ANC and 15 of the most brilliant filmmakers in the country creatively illustrate the real-life dilemmas brought by disrespect to human rights of all victims from all walks of life. Some of the human rights violated in the film series are the freedom from violence, rights of the indigenous people, right to live freely, rights of children, gays, women, and laborers, freedom of speech and the press, and the right to information.
AFP’s commitment to giving high regard on human rights is emphasized as the military organization institutes a stronger force aimed at prevention of violations and resolving all human rights cases in the AFP.
Through close coordination with CHR, media, government and nongovernment offices, the Armed Forces remains optimistic that it will gradually and ultimately put an end to the issue the organization is being accused of, more often.
"The activity is in line with the military’s conduct of the Internal Peace and Security Plan (IPSP) Bayanihan which puts utmost importance to the promotion and protection of human rights. Your AFP will continue to be an active partner of other government offices/agencies and the civil-sector towards upholding and respecting the rights of all people. We are mandated by law to put people’s welfare in the conduct of our operations at all times.” Chief of Staff Gen Eduardo SL Oban Jr. said. - https://www.affordablecebu.com/
