Microsoft is 'force upgrading' these Windows users
Microsoft has confirmed that it will support Windows 10 until at least 2025, but the company won’t add any new features to the operating system. Now, the tech giant has updated a page on its Windows Health Dashboard to announce that it will automatically upgrade Windows 10 version 20H2 with the most recent version 21H2. For those who don’t know, the Windows 10 version 20H2 Home and Pro editions will no longer be supported by the company after May 10 this year. This means that Microsoft has almost four months to upgrade the users to newer version. It is worth noting that the only time the company forces users to install an update is when the current version is getting close to the end of support.Major tech companies regularly end support for older OS versions after a new version is launched as it allows them to keep more devices on feature-rich versions and it also protects users from hackers that try to use newly discovered weak links.Windows 10, version 21H2 is available for users with select devices running Windows 10, versions 2004 and higher who manually seek to “Check for updates” via Windows Update. Devices currently on Windows 10, version 2004 or newer will have a fast installation experience because the update will install like a monthly update. As per the official release notes, the new version enabled support for Wi-Fi 6 with Wi-Fi Protected Access 3 Hash-to-Element protocol (WPA3 H2E).Microsoft also recently started to roll out the PowerToys version 0.53.1 with new features and improvements. For those who do not know, Microsoft PowerToys is a set of utilities for power users to tune and streamline their Windows experience for better productivity. With the latest update, the tech giant is adding a feature called Always on Top, along with a new web search tool and other features.Follow Gadgets Now on  Facebook  and  Twitter.   For the  latest news,   tech news,   breaking news headlines and live updates checkout Gadgetsnow.comGN Awards - Vote for your favourite GadgetsFacebookTwitterLinkedinAdd commentStart a ConversationAll Comments (0)+0/3000Be the first one to comment.{"@context":"http://schema.org","@type":"NewsArticle","inLanguage":"en","mainEntityOfPage":{"@type":"WebPage","@id":"https://www.gadgetsnow.com/tech-news/microsoft-is-force-upgrading-these-windows-users/articleshow/89089620.cms","url":"https://www.gadgetsnow.com/tech-news/microsoft-is-force-upgrading-these-windows-users/articleshow/89089620.cms"},"headline":"Microsoft is 'force upgrading' these Windows users","description":"Microsoft has confirmed that it will support Windows 10 until at least 2025, but the company won’t add any new features to the operating system.
