However, a widow is prohibited to remarry within a period of 301 days from the day of her husband’s death.If she happens to be pregnant at the time of her husband’s death, she is proscribed from remarrying until such time that she has delivered. Otherwise, she shall be guilty of violating the provision of the Revised Penal Code on premature marriages, which prescribes a penalty of arresto mayor and a fine not exceeding P500.
