PhilHealth Launched New Electronic Innovations

THE Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) recently launched five (5) electronic innovations at the Discovery Suites in Pasig City in line with its 17th Anniversary celebration.
These services include:

1. New Corporate Website - www.philhealth.gov.ph,;
2. Online Mapping Services - which is a facility to view locations of PhilHealth Branches and Regional Offices and accredited health care providers;
3. E-Registration Facility - wherein a new member can apply and register online;
4. Health Insurance Card - which will soon serve as a key card for hospitals and merchant partners when members avail themselves of PhilHealth benefits and discounts; and
   
5. E-Claims Phase I or the Claims Eligibility Web Service (CEWS) - which enables accredited institutional health care providers to check whether the patient is registered with PhilHealth and has the required contributions to avail of the benefits.

PhilHealth President and CEO Dr. Eduardo P. Banzon, said that information technology "...is a powerful equalizer for the poor" and that the electronic services introduced will facilitate transactions.
