Nutrition Month is a special health awareness campaign pursuant to Presidential Decree 491 or the Nutrition Act of the Philippines.
Like the United States, Nutrition Month is held every March.
Who takes the lead in celebrating this special event?
The National Nutrition Council (NNC) is appointed by the government as the lead agency to coordinate the nationwide celebration of Nutrition Month. This agency is composed of committed and competent public servants having the vision to ensure the nutritional well-being of all Filipinos.
As people, we are not aware of the collective representation of our health and the impact of it if the major population in the Philippines is suffering from malnutrition.
Do you know that Filipinos on average are eating less and less vegetables? I bet you didn't know.
From the consumption of 145 grams per day of vegetables in 1978, it has decrease to 110 grams per day in 2008.

That's why Nutrition Month is celebrated every year to refresh our view on health and help us keep up our health stats.
The National Nutrition Council, as the lead agency cannot do it alone in promoting this health awareness program.
Not only you and I are required to spread this health campaign, but all of us who love their health and physical body.
