What's the cause of Restless Syndrome (RLS)?
According the National Institutes of Health (NIH), "the cause of RLS is unknown. However, it may have a genetic component; RLS is often found in families where the onset of symptoms is before age 40. Specific gene variants have been associated with RLS. Evidence indicates that low levels of iron in the brain also may be responsible for RLS. Considerable evidence suggests that RLS is related to a dysfunction in the brain’s basal ganglia circuits that use the neurotransmitter dopamine, which is needed to produce smooth, purposeful muscle activity and movement. Disruption of these pathways frequently results in involuntary movements."
The opportunity of treating Restless Syndrome (RLS)
Seizing the opportunity with this findings, drug companies developed drugs that could activate more dopamine in the human body, thus treating the RLS. Through the smooth flow of dopamine in the brain, leg muscles relax and aching and itching are alleviated. This opportunity brings us to orgasm, specifically to masturbation. Why? Masturbation causes orgasm and orgasm releases or activates dopamine - and dopamine can cause to calm RLS.
New discovery of RLS treatment
Due to RLS link with dopamine, Luis Marin and his team at the Federal University conducted a research study that delves more regarding the relationship between RLS and masturbation. In their study, they want to prove whether masturbation can really calm RLS. Here's their logical conclusion: Masturbation can cause orgasm, and orgasm releases dopamines and dopamine can calm RLS; therefore, masturbation may also calm RLS. And this happens to a 41-year-old-man with RLS when he masturbated, according to Marin's report in April's Sleep Medicine.
Marin thinks that human nature's way of releasing dopamine acts the same way as the dopamine drugs. To prove his case, he points out the past study that, scientists looked at brain scans of ejaculating men, discovering that the release of dopamine was so intense that orgasms actually have a similar effect on our brains as heroin. Our natural dopamine spurts act much like our most powerful drugs.
As for applications, Marin sees masturbation as a possible natural alternative to dopamine drugs in the treatment of RLS. This presumably makes way for some interesting excuses: "Hey, I’m just taking my medicine…” - https://www.affordablecebu.com/
