Consultation-Workshop on the Result of the Return on Investment (ROI) Technique Study

The Department of Education (DepEd) through the Technical-Vocational Education Task Force (TVTF) will conduct the Consultation-Workshop on the Result of the Return on Investment (ROI) Technique Study on September 6-8, 2011 in Tacloban City, Region VIII. This is an offshoot activity of the two (2) clusters In-Country Training Efficiency and Effectiveness Using the Return on Investment (ROI) Technique held at the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) on June 13-17, 2011 and at the Balicasag Island Drive Resort, Bohol on June 20-24, 2011. The workshop aims to:

1. evaluate the relevance of the training contents and the strategies/ methodologies being used;
2. validate the qualifications/training requirements for the participants in each training program;
3. revise the training design based on the feedback of participants;
4. draft Training Guidelines; and
5. discuss results of the reassessment of technical-vocational (Tech-Voc) schools as basis for policy recommendations (a ride-on agenda).
   

The output of the said workshop will serve as basis for the downloading of the 2011 Training Funds to the sixteen (16) regions of the country and for the formulation of vital policies needed for the smooth Tech-Voc Education Program implementation.

The participants to this training program are the following:

1. thirteen (13) division chiefs of secondary education (from Regions I, II, III, IV, V, IX, X, XI, XII, Caraga, CAR and National Capital Region (NCR);
2. sixteen (16) Regional Supervisors in-charge of TLE/Tech-Voc from the sixteen (16) regions; and
3. three (3) division chiefs in-charge of the Curriculum/Capability from the Strengthening Implementation of Basic Education in Selected Provinces In Visayas (STRIVE) regions (Regions VI, VII and VIII).
   

Expenses of the organizing committee and the participants, such as board and lodging and travelling expenses shall be charged to OSEC-Tech-Voc Funds, subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.

The participants are advised to check in at the venue in the afternoon of September 5 and check out after breakfast on September 8, 2011.
