Microwave lost light /display

Microwave lost light /display Kenmore microwave model 40185043310. Was wiping out interior with wet papertowel and all of a sudden the light and display went out. Unplugged and still nothing on plugging in again. The strange thing is when i hit the upper rear area inside the light and display came on and it beeped. When I removed my hand though it disappeared again. Ideas? ANSWERS:
