It doesn't charge. Battery needs cooling down

It doesn't charge. Battery needs cooling down It doesn't charge when placed into the cradle. In few seconds pops up a warning triangle and that's it. When it was still working, there was a message: "The battery needs to be cooled down". Any idea why?
