Why is it getting more difficult to open?

Why is it getting more difficult to open?

Sometimes when I pull up on the lever to open my Keurig, it feels stuck or jammed. I have to force it and it will finally open with a loud click, which I don't want to keep doing. It feels like something needs to be lubricated. Had anyone had this problem and/or had to lubricate the opening mechanism?
