Viewfinder, screen and pictures are blank / black

Viewfinder, screen and pictures are blank / black

The camera turns on and the lens comes out. When I look through the viewfinder or at the lcd it is blank / black. Also when I take a picture and view it on my computer, the picture is blank / black.
