This is an excellent, lower cost alternative to Sony's EV-C100 Hi8/Video8 VCR for playback of these video tapes/formats. It even has a built Time Base Corrector (TBC) to get the highest quality playback possible (the EV-C100 doesn't have this TBC). This is a great VCR to play 8mm and Hi8 tapes back to life and digitize them. This deck was fully tested and is in full working condition. The heads were cleaned to ensure the best picture possible. The listing's video playback photos is a Hi8 video recorded and played back on the actual VCR you are buying. Please note that this does not include Firewire/IEEE for digitizing. You'll need to pickup a device from the likes of Amazon or B&H Photo Video to convert this device's analogue S-Video or RCA video signals and RCA audio cables to digital. This item ships with a working, original Sony power adapter and power cable. It will be extremely well packed for safe shipping.
