Bridal gowns are always very fulfilling to make. One can feel really accomplished no matter how simple it is. Creating a wedding dress is hard work, patience and perseverance. A designer’s determination is tested in his creations especially with hand-made wedding gowns. I am still dreaming to make one, a wedding dress made purely by hand. I would be so proud by then. For now, I put a touch of couture to all my bridal gowns. The inner garments are sewn by machines and the outer parts, usually sculptured lace with beadworks are hand-sewn. My signature bead works are made of pearls, cut-beads, seed-beads and crystals carefully embedded into the lace sculptured on either the silk duchess or silk Mikado. I enjoy creating my own design into the fabric to ensure that each wedding dress will be different from the others. And I love seeing the bride’s character put into her wedding gown and her beauty accented by its subtle designs. The Bride Marc Marc is one of those brides who want it simple yet memorable. A gown with simplicity and elegance would best fit her. I designed a classic serpentina silhouette gown, made of Mikado silk for the base, combined with shiny organza, and tulle for a soft illusion to show-off her delicate shoulders. An overlay of floral lace craftily sculptured at the front extending to the shoulders was highlighted with rice pearls, cut beads and Swarovski stones. The Little Bride’s Gown The little bride’s gown, was almost an exact replica of the bride’s except for the bodice style which was designed for comfort to match her age. The maids of honor’s gowns, all of which were Marchesa-inspired, were made of gold silk satin, wrapped-around with old rose chiffon matching with the color motif of champagne. The bride chose champagne motif which go well with the rustic theme of the wedding. The Vera Wang-inspired wedding dress, was made of champagne silk duchess blended with champagne organza. Layers of blossom-effect organza were attached to the skirt for that haute couture look. The gown was enhanced with organza sash beaded with Swarovski and accented by an illusion tulle veil. For the reception, the bride wore a modern Filipiniana gown of delicate Chantilly lace on silk Mikado for a cowl bodice and silk Mikado Mermaid skirt.
