This is a vintage Walz Movie Light Meter from the late 1950’s to the mid 1960’s when home movies began to be popular but film was difficult to work with. The meter has a window in which the user would select the type of film being used on a rotating drum. Then simply point the meter in the direction of the movie subject and read the meter to determine if there was enough light available. This helped prevent film waste.
