Nicholas HANSEN folding camera. This is a folding camera for 9x12cm views on film. On the lens mount it says: ""N.Hansen, 139 rue de Montrouge, Gentilly (Seine)"" and ""Anastigmat 1: 8 - Foyer de 145 mm -Verres de Iéna - N ° 224"". Focusing is helicoidal from 3m to infinity. The iris diaphragm is graduated ""1-2-4-8-16"" Shutter speeds are set by a small knob graduated from 1 to 6. There is a pivoting, Newton type viewfinder with graduations. The shutter. only 5mm thick, is very quiet and smooth, and is set by a key. Nicholas Hansen was a mechanical engineer and applied for a patent for ""a shutter without recoil, and with speeds from"" instant ""to"" time """" on 29 January 1900. It has a Newton type reticulated swivel sight, with front sight.
