Operational Purchasing Agent

• Timely and accurate management of purchase order data
• Adhere to ISO policies especially related to purchasing
• Understand purchased material pricing
• Work with A/P to insure accurate and timely payment of invoices.
• Supplier management to include cost reductions, meetings, quotes, supplier qualification, supplier audits/visits, and supplier evaluations
• Work towards improving sourcing metrics including cost reductions, Days Payable Outstanding, inventory turns, ERS, PPV, etc
• Convert purchase requests to purchase orders, place PO's, create return PO's, manage and update PO delivery dates, monitor late purchase orders, expedite, close out purchase orders/receivers, and knowledge of MRP system
• Create master data for the purchasing area (SAP sourcing screens, PIR's, Source lists etc.).
• Maintain purchasing files and records.
• Work with strategic buyers, facilitators, and managers in support of regional and global activities
• Work with planning and suppliers to manage and reduce inventory.
• Participate in make vs. buy decisions
• Support quality notification system with supplier follow up on corrective actions
• Work with and support Product Management/Plan/Make/Move/QA/CS activities
• Participate in the NPD process, working with suppliers, R&D, Sales and Marketing, and QA to develop material specifications. Report balanced score card metrics as required

Qualifications

• Must have intermediate knowledge & use of Microsoft Excel and Word
• SAP experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree in business or related field is desired.
• Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Purchasing experience is a plus but not required
• A.P.P. or C.P.M. is desired.
• Must have excellent English communication skills both spoken and written
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, aggressive growth environment.
• Must be able to pay strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Must have excellent organizational skills
• Must be able to work independently
• Must be a team player
• Must be comfortable working in the night shift
