Bayanihan Para sa Kapayapaan 2011

The Department of Education (DepEd) has sustained its commitment and active participation in the Yes for Peace - Bayanihan Para sa Kapayapaan Campaign in all public and private elementary and secondary schools nationwide since 1996. Two Million Four Hundred Thirty Nine Thousand One Hundred Four (2,439,104) Filipinos participated from May 15 to September 16, 1997 while another Three Hundred Thirty Four Thousand Eight Hundred Seven (334,807) participated from October 10, 2008 to November 15, 2009 to the continuing peace education and advocacy campaign. To help establish people's support for the ongoing peace process, the DepEd distributed 10,000 copies of DepEd Memorandum No. 428, s. 2010 dated October 1, 2010. More or less Seven Hundred Twenty Thousand (720,000) responses were generated.
This campaign aims to encourage at least 10 Million peace-loving Filipinos, 10 years and older to speak as one to provide a democratic people's mandate for the comprehensive peace process particularly the permanent cessation of hostilities between the government and all rebel groups in 2012.

To inculcate the Bayanihan spirit and ensure that the target Ten (10) Million responses is attained from the Primary Target Audience (18 Million pupils and students from Grade IV to 4th Year), officers of Supreme Pupil Governments (SPGs), Supreme Student Governments (SSGs) in public and private elementary and secondary schools are encouraged to undertake the activities listed in the enclosure under the guidance of Araling Panlipunan (AP) and Edukasyon sa Pagpapahalaga (EP)/Values Education (VE) teachers and under the supervision of the school principals.

The following materials are enclosed for reference: (a) Enclosure No. 1- master copies of Yes for Peace - Bayanihan Para sa Kapayapaan 2011 Questionnaires; (b) Enclosure No. 2 - Homeroom Tabulation; and (c) Enclosure No. 3- School Summary Forms to be reproduced and used in the campaign.

Responses shall be mailed with free postage until the last week of January 2012. Results shall be delivered to the Office of the President during the celebration of the 26th Anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution. Schools are also encouraged to hold a simultaneous Panunumpa ng mga Kabayani para sa Kapayapaan on February 22, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. or preferably during recess.

The bureau directors (BDs), regional directors (RDs), schools division/city superintendents (SDSs) and district supervisors (DSs) shall oversee the participation of schools under their jurisdiction in the said activity. Participation in the Yes for Peace 2011 Campaign shall be included in the Annual Reports for School Year 2011-2012.
